Our STORY

Palmetto Distillery is a labor of love for Trey and Bryan Boggs. The two brothers and entrepreneurs from Upstate SC are dedicated businessmen with a taste for whiskey. Southern to the bone, the brothers have a strong dedication to their craft and a passion for keeping their heritage alive through the spirits they create.

The brothers’ journey began back in 2011, when they opened the doors to South Carolina’s first legal moonshine distillery. Their new business venture was a lifelong dream for the boys, who reveled in southern heritage and family tradition. Largely inspired by their infamous relative, Dock Boggs, the brothers continued their family’s bootlegging legacy with the origination of their signature White Lightning Moonshine – but that was just the beginning. 

Though their roots run deep, Trey and Bryan also share an affinity for originality and a taste for spirits of all kinds. Over the years, the brothers have worked hard, researched and built a solid team of distillers to develop an innovative line of spirits that preserve traditions with a freshness. Today, Palmetto Distillery proudly produces award-winning spirits with their collections of Palmetto Moonshine, Palmetto Whiskey, and ready-to-drink cocktails.

Our mission is to produce southern spirits of unparalleled taste and quality. All of our products are crafted from original recipes and mash bills handed down for over a century. Our moonshines are produced on-site using our custom-made 1,000-gallon copper still, and our whiskey is aged in-house with the use of new French oak barrels. Every bottle and jar is carefully crafted, bottled and labeled by hand – from grain to glass. Grab a bottle and enjoy our authentic, southern originals.
